Take away the nuclear threat and Iran has waged war through proxies and terrorism in Israel since way before October 7 th . in April and October of this past year Iran fired hundreds of ballistic missiles in civilian targets in Israel . On June 12 th Iran was called out on its illegal uranium enrichment . The reason George Bush did not have to go in to Iraq was because Israel had destroyed their nuclear reactor and was criticized for it by the world instead of being thanked . The comparison between George Bush and Israel is not accurate.

Iran is an imminent threat once it enriched their uranium . You can afford to take a chance on Israeli lives but Israel’s leaders can not .

I thought this guy was smart?!? This is the most ridiculous comment ever. I guess when you’re already attaching a country via proxies and missiles while promislng to annihilate them, doesn’t count . WHAT ?!?! Is this guy for real??

The US need not choose to follow Israel into war.

It is an Illusuon to think that the war against Iran will be a walk in the park. We have regional & BRICS forces that will escalate tjis into a wider regional war with China & North Korea ready to step in! US milirary will find itself in a position where they start one war but have to fight 3 separate reginal wars - Iran, Taiwan & Pakistan-Turkiye. This will end up 8n a debacle marking the not only military but also Socio-economic decline of USA & to some extend EU.

THE sad part is that US military personel & civilians will be sacrificed & give their lives for a seemingly easy negotiins, where Israel can invite other reginal members that do not want Iran to produce a nuclear weapon - Saudi, Qatari, UAE, Turkyie, erc. COUNTRIES!

I will qualify this as the mist Irrational war decision in the Histry of the US!

I think Haass reveals himself here to be a totally unprincipled person who would abandon at the drop of a hat what he has previously defended just to be able to cozy up to power. Just a disgrace.

You have normalized Trump. Despite your interesting and informative conversation on Iran neither of you mentioned his mental instability and the consequences of his erratic and uneducated behavior. None of this is normal. He’s destroying our democracy. I honestly don’t understand why you trod along as if nothing is amiss.
